The Konnarock Retreat House Needs Volunteers

Thanks to all who were there for our January 23rd workday when a small group put in 40 hours of hard work on the chapel flooring. We will continue our work in the Chapel in the days ahead as we continue toward having the sub flooring in place along with finishing the vaper barrier and insulation.

It is amazing what we can accomplish when we work together! And one of the best parts of the experience is getting to know a wonderful group of people. If you would like to help, come out and join in all the fun. Just send me a note and let me know that you are coming. That way we will be able to plan meals for the day.

Konnarock Retreat House relies heavily on volunteer labor. More than 4500 hours have been given to the center thus far. The KRH Board will work with groups and individuals to schedule times convenient for them. All types of work are needed such as clean-up, landscape work, carpentry, painting, plumbing and plaster repair. Whatever your skill might be, we can find a way to use it. If you would like to volunteer your skills and time for a future workday, please contact me at mherring9@aol.com or call me at 423-323-7741 to make arrangements. We are ready to accept work groups and can provide lodging in the cottage for small groups which travel from a distance.

From time to time skilled and licensed laborers will be needed including electricians, plumbers, framers, drywallers and other skilled labor. If you can volunteer these specialty skills then please contact me, Monroe Herring, Building Committee Chairperson, and offer your services.

Announcements of future Konnarock Work Day events will be posted on the "Next Workdate" page. Please check back frequently to see the next date when you can join us. All are encouraged to participate as they are able!

Monroe Herring, Building Committee Chairperson
